You may have heard or read that the government has changed the rules relating to tax relief on donations, gifts, bequests and membership fees given to charities. The changes came into force on the 6 April 2000 and will apply to the trust from the date of our incorporation. For us to take advantage of the new rules every member making a donation or paying a membership fee has to give permission for the trust to reclaim the tax they have already paid.
· You only need to make ONE declaration
· We will only claim once we receive your donation.
· This declaration will not apply if you cease to be a member or you withdraw your permission in writing.
· You must pay an amount of income tax or capital gains tax equal to the tax we will reclaim on your donation (this will be 28p for every £1 you give). Remember to tell us if you stop paying tax.
